Response to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Catastrophe |
Dates: March 7, 2008 to May 16, 2008
Following the Post Election Violence that rocked Kenya in 2008, InvesteQ Capital’s staff found it fit to look into the plight of fellow countrymen in dire straits in Internally Displaced Person’s camps around the country. The staff identified such a camp of about 300 people including children at the DC’s office in Dagoretti. InvesteQ distributed dry food stuffs, toiletries and clothing. |
Response to Victims of Post Election Violence (PEV) |
Dates: July 30, 2008
InvesteQ Staff identified two victims of the PEV admitted at the National Spinal Injury Hospital. InvesterQ assisted in settling part of their hospital bills, buying foodstuffs, for one of the beneficiary’s family and a cash donation for one of the beneficiaries which was used to re-establish his grocery shop in Kibera and to re-open his wife’s salon business both of which were destroyed in the violence. |
Missionaries of Charity Home, Huruma |

InvesteQ had an opportunity to spend an afternoon at the home – playing, singing and cake cutting with the children, women and staff. In addition, InvesteQ donated clothes, foodstuff, cooking oil, toiletries and milk. |
Thogoto Home for the Aged |
Dates: July 3, 2009
Contribution from InvesteQ members of staff and the company were used for: shopping for fruits and vegetables to add to the Home’s regular diet; settling NHIF full year premiums for 7 elderly people at the home; buying gift shopping vouchers for staff at the home in appreciation of their noble work; repair of a grass cutter used to prepare fodder for the cows at the home; putting up of some of the kitchen shelves required in a newly built up kitchen. Staff also spent the afternoon with the staff and the elderly at the home and enjoyed some singing, dancing, prayers and cake cutting. InvesteQ will be following up on a quarterly basis to ensure that the elderly at the home have their basic needs met. Of particular interest to InvesteQ is a good balanced diet, medical care, water and sanitation. |
Finance Students Association (FISA), University of Nairobi |
Dates: 2007 – to Date
The purpose of the partnership and sponsorships is to assist FISA achieve its objectives as a club and to help members (current students of finance at the university) appreciate the corporate world while empowering them to think beyond the classroom environment. In this way, students are better prepared to take on work engagements when they graduate. InvesteQ Capital has been supporting FISA in a number of its activities including: Golf tournaments organized to fund raise for various initiatives, sponsoring the club’s Annual Dinner dances and offering internship opportunities to students. |
